Crate Marine in Belleville, ON (Limerick Lake)

Day #371: From last evening I beat Mike at cribbage. Mike and I were up at 6:15 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit, mini blueberry/corn muffins and local news/weather. The two of us worked a few boat jobs to get ready to leave the boat for a few days. I finished the cake placing a glaze on the blueberry buckle. We worked on navigation and paperwork. At 10:45 A.M. Ed and Kyle arrived at Crate Marine. Mike and I were so happy to see our friends that we had not seen since Aquamarine Palm Harbor. The four of us headed to our first stop to pick up fresh cheese curds at Ivanhoe Cheese Fromage. After buying cheese curds we headed to find Mike and I some poutine (dish that includes fries and cheese curds topped with a brown gravy) Ed took a detour to Chip Wagon in Marmora where we had a great lunch which included poutine (which is very good but very sinful). The four of us then headed to Limerick Lake where Ed and Kyle have a small boat at Limerick Lake Lodge and Marina which is owned by Ed's brother. We hopped into the boat as this is the only way to get to Ed and Kyle's cottage. Ed and Kyle have built a beautiful cottage on Limerick Lake. Mike and I were given a tour of the cottage including our room for the next few evenings. The four of us spent the afternoon out on the dock enjoying the beautiful sunny day. Ed, Kyle and Mike enjoyed the water that felt like bath water while I enjoyed the view from the dock. Ed rode around the lake in a jet ski. The four of us had happy hour on the dock enjoying cheese curds, nuts and crackers. After happy hour Ed and Kyle whipped up a great dinner of tomatoes/mozzarella/basil, fresh green beans, cheesy rice and grilled chicken. For dessert the four of us had blueberry buckle for Kyle's birthday celebration. The four of us retired to the living room for after dinner drinks before retiring for the evening at 11 P.M. (yup way past looper midnight of 9 P.M.).
