Day #370: From last evening I beat Mike at cribbage. The two of us were up at 4:30 A.M. to prepare for departure. It was clear and cool 54 degrees. The engines were started at 5:15 A.M. and at 5:20 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was underway. "Parrot Bay" left Collins Bay heading into the Bay of Quinte. At 9:00 A.M. "Parrot Bay" passed Parrotts Bay, a very popular anchorage that the locals like to go to for the weekend. At 6:10 "Parrot Bay" passed the car ferry "Frontenac II" that is the ferry between Amherst Island and the mainland. At 6:35 A.M. "McKeil Spirit" entered the Bay of Quinte off Lake Ontario ahead of "Parrot Bay" heading to Picton. At 8:30 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was at Young's Point where it passed the car ferry "Ontario Explorer" At 9:50 A.M. "Parrot Bay" had to use the temporary shipping route under the Skyway Bridge. Mike and I couldn't have asked for a better day on the water it was flat calm and beautiful. At 11:45 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was at Crate Marine where before going to the slip Mike headed to the fuel dock to get the black water tank pumped. After the pump out "Parrot Bay" went to assigned slip after traveling 54.7 miles (4,634.7 miles total for the trip). When Mike went to pay for the dockage and pumpout the credit card declined so the first thing that I did when we got tied up was call the credit union (I had called on Friday when we arrived in Canada to let them know that there would be charges in Canada) I was able to get it fixed but was never told why it had declined. The lady on the phone did tell me that she could see the note about Canada. I then made reservations at Trent Port Marina for Sunday planning to start the Trent-Severn Waterway on Monday. Mike and I headed to Scotia Bank to gets some Canadian currency. The two of us then headed to get lunch. We found a bar that had a sign outside with lunch specials. The bar was definitely filled with local patrons. Mike and I had a great lunch but the locals were a bit on the wild side dropping the "f-bomb" non-stop. We then headed back to the boat to work on laundry. Mike and I had gotten Canadian quarters but the washer/dryer took loonies (one dollar Canadian coins). The marina staff were good enough to exchange Mike's quarters for loonies so laundry was completed. I baked a birthday cake. The two of us headed up to the flying bridge for happy hour where there was a cool breeze off the water. It was then time for reading and blogging. The plan is for Mike and I to have a visit with our friends Ed and Kyle at their home. Blogging will be completed the next few days depending on the internet connection on Limerick Lake.

Mike and I decided that they liked this slide much better then the slide on Lake Okeechobee where there were alligators. No alligators in Canada. |
Mike and I thought that this chair looked cool it sits over the water (looks like a Hershey Kiss). |
