Day #348: From last night after I posted my blog I found an article that stated that the Trent-Seven waterway was closed to boats between Lock 1 and Lock 7 south of Peterborough which was not good news along with the closure of the Lock 1 and Lock 2 of the Owego Canal. Mike and I were up at 6:00 A.M. for coffee, sticky buns and grapefruit. Good news this morning both the Trent-Severn and Owego Canals are back open (YEAH!!!!). Looking at the weather in the morning it is looking like the winds are going to lighten up starting Monday through Friday but there is a chance of thunderstorms starting Monday afternoon through Friday. Mike and I are hoping for a week that we are able to make miles getting through New York harbor. The two of us looked at navigation starting in Kington City, NY to New Baltimore, NY which could be as soon as the end of the week. Gina from "Alysana" organized a trip to Westside Market to get sandwiches for lunch the group included Nick ("Kailani"), John/Gina ("Alysana"), Parker/Leslie ("Scaliwag") and Jim/Cathy ("Plan B") at noon we took one rental car and one Uber. Mike had a Phillysteak sandwich and I had a tuna hoagie. After lunch Gina, John, Mike and I walked back to the marina for some exercise. Upon returning Nick, John, Gina, Mike and I sat under the pavilion enjoying the cool breeze off of the water. At 3:30 P.M. everyone headed back to their boats to get preparations ready for departure in the morning. At 5:00 P.M. the group got together for docktails/captain's meeting. The following boats were at there; "Plan B", "Scott Free", "Scaliwag", "Forever Friday", "Alysana", "Kailani" and "Parrot Bay". The group is planning to leave at 8:00 A.M. with most of the boats at the captain's meeting as they are heading to Atlantic City.
