Day #349: From last night Mike beat me at cribbage (a skunk). Mike and I were up at 5:20 A.M. (the alarm was set for 6:00 A.M.) to have coffee, grapefruit and cinnamon roll to watch the local weather. "Forever Friday" left Utsch's just ahead of "Parrot Bay" The engines were on at 7:45 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was underway with "Alysana" at 7:50 A.M. As "Parrot Bay" and "Alysana" exited Utsch's Marina they were joined by "Scailwag". At 8:15 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was at the end of the break wall heading out into the Atlantic ocean with sharp waves in the tidal transition from the inlet to the open ocean, taking water over the bow. As "Parrot Bay" turned the waves were on the starboard quarter wallowing in the waves. At 8:45 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was 1 1/2 miles offshore passed by Wildwood, NJ lots of rollercoasters and ferris wheel with 2 1/2 to 3 foot waves off the starboard stern quarter. "Parrot Bay" passed "Honey Badger" and "Just Jillin" both looper boats. At 12:30 P.M. "Parrot Bay" at the break wall heading into Atlantic City with 3 foot waves on the stern coming in against the outgoing tidal current which made for a very exciting ride. At 12:50 P.M. "Parrot Bay" was secure at Farley's State Marina at the Golden Nugget Casino in Atlantic City after traveling 44.3 miles (4,088.3 miles total for the trip). We checked into the marina then headed to Golden Nugget where we ate at the Bill's Bar & Burger of New York where Mike had a burger and I had a fish sandwich. I tried the slot machines but was unsuccessful at $30.00 Mike cut me off. The two of us then joined Parker and Leslie from "Scaliwag" as they were having lunch we had a great time talking about the loop. Parker and Leslie headed to gamble a bit while Mike and I headed back to the boat. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued for Atlantic City. Mike talked to Amanda. At 5:00 P.M. it was time for blogging and navigation planning. The plan is that "Parrot Bay" will be pulling away from the dock at 5:00 A.M. heading 90 miles to Great Kills Yacht Club on Staten Island. The winds and waves look favorable but there are thunderstorms predicted.
