Day #342: From last evening I beat Mike at cribbage. Rain overnight as predicted. The two of us were up at 6:30 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit and cookies. We worked on a few boat jobs waiting for the rain to stop before calling Uber to take us to the grocery store. At 10:40 A.M. the rain had subsided so the two of us took Uber to the Food Lion in downtown Bear. Mike and I concurred that there is nothing near the marina and Bear is very small hence no sightseeing. We got groceries calling for an Uber ride to take us back to the marina. After putting our groceries away it was time for lunch onboard. The rain started again so Mike and I both finished books. Mike worked on a bit of condo association work. Mike made popcorn for happy hour and the two of us tried to enjoy it on the well deck but the rain started again. The rain was intermittent during happy hour so we sat in the cabin. Mike made a second batch of popcorn then I beat Mike at a game of cribbage. At 5:00 P.M. it was time for reading and blogging. The two of us watched the movie "Overboard". The weather forecasters are calling for thunderstorms tonight with sun and strong winds on Tuesday so Mike and I will be staying in Bear for one more day. If the weather holds the two of us will be traveling on Wednesday to Cape May, New Jersey. Mike and I agreed that this is the first time that we have had multiple days of weather that have made us stay in port. Neither Mike nor I could remember a day on the trip where we just sat in the boat due to the weather which speaks to the fact that we have been blessed with very good weather.
