Summit North Marina in Bear, Delaware

Day #343: From last evening Mike and I watched the movie "Overboard" with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel, what a funny movie. There was light rain overnight. The two of us awoke to cloudy skies, cool temperatures and wind (hence we are not moving today). Mike was up at 5:30 A.M. as he thought that it was 6:30 A.M. The two of us had coffee, grapefruit and large chocolate chip cookie. We signed up for one more night here at Summit North Marina.  The plan is to leave at between 5:15 A.M. and 5:30 A.M. Wednesday morning heading for Cape May, NJ. From there we will wait for a good day to travel out into the Atlantic ocean for the next leg of the trip to Atlantic City. Mike and I spent the morning working on paperwork and navigation while we have time and aren't traveling.  Mike and I walked on the Michael Castle Trail where we were able to see a train crossing the C & D Canal Lift Bridge. The two of us returned to the boat for reading on the flying bridge where the wind was very gusty but it was sun and comfortable. After reading it was time for happy hour. At 6:00 P.M. it was time for hot ham and swiss sandwiches onboard. Mike and I prepared the boat for departure in the morning as we will be getting up at 4:15 A.M. to be ready for first light to get underway heading to Cape May, NJ which is a 8 1/2 hour run. We only have a small window to get to Cape May before the winds and rain moves back into the area. It was then time for the two of us to blog and read before heading to bed early.
