Homer-Smith Marina in Beaufort, North Carolina
Day #314: From last evening Mike beat me at cribbage. The two of us were up at 6:30 A.M. partly sunny temperatures in the low 70's with the possibility of showers. The two of us changed sheets on the bed. After we did some navigation and I called the next three marinas making reservations for the holiday weekend. The fourth is a free dock in Elizabeth City, NC which at this time it looks like Mike and I will be there on Memorial Day. Mike talked to Matt and Tony the owners of Homer-Smith Marina they worked out their computer bugs so Mike was able to pay our bill. The marina staff will be watching over the "Parrot Bay" while we head home for the weekend. At 12:15 P.M. we were picked up at the marina in a white Dodge Charger that took us to Moorehead City Enterprise. When the lady went to get the keys to the Hyundi Elantra there wasn't a vehicle available so she upgraded to the white Charger (Whoo Hoo!). We headed back to the marina where we loaded the bulk of the gear that we are taking home into the trunk of the Charger (there isn't a bit of room left in the trunk) and the back seat. The two of us then had happy hour on the back deck of the boat. At 3:30 P.M. the two of us walked to downtown Beaufort getting pastries at a bakery. We went looking for a restaurant to have an early dinner we ended up at Moonrakers which had a early light menu which turned out to be excellent. After dinner the two of us headed back to the boat. We finished packing our gear, blogging and reading.
