Dog River Marina in Mobile, Alabama to Homeport Marina, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Day #131: Patty was up at 5:00 A.M. as I couldn't sleep. Mike was up at 5:45 A.M. We started to get ready for departure. The weather was clear but it was only 42 degrees. Bruce and Bev had plenty of water under their boat and the shrimping boat was out so we decided that it was a great time to leave Dog River Marina. Mike and I checked the starboard reverse while we were at the dock it worked just fine. Engines were on at 6:55 A.M. At 7:10 A.M. we backed away from the dock and Mike was able to spin the boat with assist from Ted from "Bluegill" who helped to push the bow away from the dock. It was very tight but the starboard reverse worked and Mike did a great job getting us out the very small space. At 8:00 A.M. we were in the main channel of Mobile Bay.  We had 1-2 foot waves but it was tolerable. At 8:42 A.M. we were off the main channel there were no waves and it was beautiful. We saw numerous dolphins. Caryl from "Houligan Again" texting that they would be at Home Port Marina tonight as well. We have not seen Ray and Caryl since Green Turtle Bay Marina. At 10:30 A.M. we officially entered the Gulf Coast Intercoastal Waterway. We arrived at the fuel dock at Home Port Marina with the assistance of Ken the dockmaster.  We docked fueled up with diesel and pumped out the black water tank. "Bay Tripper" at the fuel dock as well for a pump out of their black water tank. "Parrot Bay" and "Bay Tripper" both secure in their slips at 12:30 P.M. Today we traveled 37 miles (total of 1979 miles for the trip). After lunch Bev, Mike and I walked up to the Publix to get a few items as it is suppose to start raining this evening until Thursday (yes, 3 days). The walk to the Publix was partly road but there was some walking on the grass as the Publix is on a highway. We walked a total 3.34 miles all three of us felt great as we have not had the opportunity to walk. After getting back to the boat  Dinner at 5:30 P.M. with Bruce, Bev, Ray and Caryl. LuLu's Restaurant is onsite here at the marina. LuLu is Jimmy Buffet's sister so we had to stop here and have dinner.
