Paris Landing in Buchanan, TN to Cuba Landing Marina in Waverly, TN

Day #102: Happy Anniversary to my parents Don and Rose Burdo. Up at 5:45 A.M. at Paris Landing Marina. Cloudy, windy and wispy fog. Fishing tournament went out of the marina just prior to us leaving. Our engines were on at 6:45 A.M. We were underway at 7:00 A.M. with dockside assist from Lauren and Jim from Oar Knot.  We had a temperature of 44 degrees with 10-15 mile per hour winds out of the east. At 11:20 A.M. we were at CSX Railroad Lift Bridge Mike called the bridge operator was told 24 feet clearance and there was a train coming. Mike lowered the mast so that we didn't need a lift. We had lunch on the flying bridge while underway. At 1:30 P.M. we were secured at Cuba Landing with dockside help from dock hands Paul and Bobbie. Multiple fishing boats came into the dock while we were getting settled at the dock as there was a youth fishing tournament here at the marina. At 2:30 P.M. Mike was able to get ABC on our television so we will be able to watch Michigan and Wisconsin tonight. The sun finally came out. Mike and I were approached by a local lady who was formally from Tawas, MI she saw my sweatshirt and came over to talk to us. She stated that she left Michigan heading to Texas she stopped in Tennessee and never left. She told us that she has a home here in town but most people come to Cuba Landing as their get away. Bruce, Bev, Mike and I went for a 1.5 mile walk near the marina. When we returned from the walk we had docktails and snacks with Bruce and Bev using the marina's picnic table. At 5:00 P.M. Bruce and Bev headed back to their boat for the evening. Mike and I headed back to the "Parrot Bay" Mike prepared to make popcorn while I blogged. It is predicted that we are to received rainfall tonight, tomorrow and Monday from the remnants of Hurricane Sergio that was a hurricane in the Pacific.

We saw this sign when we went for a walk.

Out for a walk near the water.

Don't boat where the birds walk. There were lots of places as we came into Cuba Landing that should not be boated near.

Mushrooms that Bev found while we were out for a walk.
