Green Turtle Bay Resort in Grand Rivers, KY in to Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, TN

Day #101: Up at 5:30 A.M. what a difference a week makes was 44 degrees outside. Engines on at 6:45 A.M. At 7:00 A.M. we were underway with hats and gloves on. There was light wispy fog on the lake. At 7:23 A.M. we entered the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lake. Mike turned on the auto helm which we were actually able to use on the river today. At 8:00 A.M. we passed over Birmingham a small community that was flooded over when the Kentucky Dam was built. The town showed up on Bruce and Bev's chart plotter. Amanda called Mike at 8:45 A.M. to let him know that it was snowing in Sault Ste. Marie. The boat ride was beautiful water with no debris and there was just a bit of color in the trees. At 10:20 A.M. we passed the tow "William Neckel". Since we were told that we didn't need reservations at Paris Landing, Mike called at 11:15 A.M. to let them know that we were about one hour out he was told that there was lots of room to call when we got to the channel. At 12:30 P.M. we were secure at the dock with the assistance of Alex. Today we traveled 43.9 miles (1315 miles total for the trip). Mike and I had lunch aboard "Parrot Bay". After lunch we headed over to "Baytripper" to look at some changes to our itinerary as Bruce and Bev are in need of a rental car. After a bit of discussion and a few phone calls we were all set. We will be leaving tomorrow morning as planned for Cuba Landing Marina, TN (we will only be staying for one night), on Sunday we will be heading to Riverstone Marina, TN. On Monday with Bruce and Bev, Mike and I will be heading to Grand Harbor Marina, TN where we will be staying until October 27th (Bruce and Bev will be leaving from Grand Harbor to head home for a wedding). Once Bruce and Bev return that we will continue our journey down the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway. Mike and I headed back to the boat to work on a few boat jobs. We had dinner aboard "Baytripper" as Bev made chicken fajitas. We played GOLF in which Patty won again!
Bev caught this picture of "Parrot Bay" heading out of Green Turtle Bay at sunrise.

Barkley Lake a bit of wispy fog.

Confluence as we headed into the Tennessee River.

Oh no! What is this? We thought it was a fog bank. It faded as we got closer.

Tow "Alliance" was tied to the mooring cells as we entered the Tennessee River once we were by it headed towards to the Kentucky Lock and Dam.

Some of the fog was spinning up like little tornados.

Bruce and Bev's Garmin display as we went by where the town of Birmingham had been before it was flooded when the Kentucky Dam was built.  The red squares are the foundations from the houses and buildings and the streets are the lines.  It's all under water.

As we got closer to Paris Landing there were beautiful rock formations.

This is what Captain Mike looks like when he is driving the boat.

This helicopter flew by us as we were getting close to Paris Landing.

Caught a bit of color on camera. There isn't much right now but we figure with a few cool nights we will start seeing more shortly.

Heading into Paris Landing State Park.
