Grafton Harbor in Grafton, IL

Day #83: Lions won!!!! Patriots 10-Lions 26. We were up at 6:20 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit and mini cinnamon rolls. "Long Story" posted on the forum about their experiences after leaving Alton Marina. There were multiple boats that had issues after leaving Alton. "Long Story" ended up with a broken strainer basket trying to clean it out as it was packed full of mud. "Long Story" ended up being towed to St. Charles, MO (they indeed are joining "Kostal Karma"). Another boat did make it to Hoppies but needed repairs so they will be staying there an extra day. One of the larger boats ended up healing when it hit a 3"-5" bump but were able to get out of the Alton marina. Mike and I talked and we are going to talk to Graton Harbor about the possibility of just staying here at Grafton Harbor until Sunday. Mike talked to Alton Marina they are saying at the docks that there is 4"-4.5" of water. They are going to take some measurements and will call back shortly. We are also watching Kirk and Leslie to see if they are going to develop into hurricanes in the next few days. There is always something going on. Alton Marina called back they confirmed that where they would be putting us at the dock that there would be enough water and the dam was making changes that would increase the amount of water. We decided to stay at Grafton Harbor until Wednesday morning as there are severe storms predicted for Tuesday. We will call Alton Marin on Tuesday to verify depths. We talked with "Houlegan again" setting up docktails for 5:30 P.M. this evening. Mike and I walked in Grafton for a total 2.54 miles. It was partly sunny and when the sun was out it was warm. Mike and I played two games of cribbage, I won both games. We had happy hour on the well deck of the boat. Al and Ruth from "Tortuga" stopped over to introduce themselves.  They were invited to docktails but they had reserved the van and they were heading to Jerseyville. We had docktails with Ray and Caryl. The misquotes were awful. "Houlegan again" is planning on heading to Alton on Tuesday, Caryl offered to text us when they got there to let us know water depths. "Houlegan again" and "HMS Vagabond" made reservations at Hoppies for Sunday so we will be traveling together. Time for blogging and reading.
These two were strutting their stuff on the break wall this morning.

Grafton is full of little retreat housing. This is "The Palms". Very colorful.

Beautiful flowers in Grafton.
