Day #62: Rain overnight I was up at 2 A.M. lots of people out and about in Chicago at that time. Up at 6:30 A.M. for Kringle, grapefruit and coffee. Mike wanted to find the grocery store so we headed towards Bockwinkel's. We walked along the riverfront for a bit seeing some of the bridges and sites that we will see when we lock through on Wednesday. We saw Trump Tower on our way. Bockwinkel's is a very nice grocery store Mike was able to buy beer and ice. We were going to do more exploring but we decided to wait for the "Honey Jug" people to come to pump our holding tank before we get into the rivers. We are monitoring tropical storm Gordon as it is developing off the coast of Florida. The "Honey Jug" people showed up at 11:00 A.M. within 10 minutes they were done. Mike and I headed to Portillo's for Chicago-style hot dogs. While Mike and I were walking my sister facetimed while Mike and I were walking in downtown Chicago. We had our hotdogs, onion rings, french fries and sodas. It started to rain after we finished eating so Mike and I decided to head back to the boat as the storms were starting to develop deciding that we would do more sightseeing later. Multiple storm cells went through during the afternoon causing flooding. Mike and I were up on the flying bridge for most of the afternoon watching the lightening. We believe that we are ready for the locks. Time for blogging and Mike talked to his parents. We are going to have a quiet evening. The plan is to lock through on Wednesday.
