Last night a bit of excitement at 1 A.M. we had 4 firetrucks, 2 rescue units, 2 ambulances and multiple police cars come down the walkway right next to the boat. They headed past us it looked like they were near boats in the marina. No one here seemed to know what happened but one of the ambulances left with it's lights on. We were up at 6:30 A.M. for cinnamon Kringle, peach and coffee. We reviewed our plans for the next 5-7 days as we travel down the river. We headed to the Shedd Aquarium where we had a great time. We got to watch a whale, red-tailed hawk and dolphin show. After we left the aquarium we headed to Buckingham Fountain which is beautiful. We than walked to the Cloud Gate, a well known sculpture. We headed back to the marina stopping to cancel our reservation for tomorrow as we are planning on leaving in the morning. After lunch on the boat we headed to the Chicago Riverwalk as Mike wanted to see where the Chicago river splits so that he would have a visual before we traveled tomorrow. We headed back going to Bockwinkles were we picked up a few items. We headed back to the boat were we met Mark and Lezlie on "Antonia" they are our new neighbors they are loopers as well. Mike and I lowered the mast for tomorrows trip. I printed up satellite views of the next 3 marinas. I have my lifejacket, knife and gloves ready for the locks. We had docktails with "Antoina", "Kostal Karma" and "Wine Speed". Time for blogging and getting ready for a 5 A.M. wake up call.
