Port Washington Marina in Port Washington, WI

Day #45: Small amount of rain overnight. Up at 6:30 A.M. for coffee, peaches and banana bread.  We woke up to rain and thunderstorms. The rain causing flooding in parts of Wisconsin's coast along with a waterspout that was caught on a local news camera. Mike worked in the engine room while I worked on a grocery list. We are waiting for the rain to stop so that we can do some shopping at the: Piggly Wiggly, pharmacy, fish market, Port Washington shops on main street. We have been watching the weather I have e-mailed Reef Point Marina in Racine about the possibility of going there on Sunday as the weather is going to be storming and windy on Monday and Tuesday (with the winds we would not be able to leave Port Washington until Thursday or Friday). The rain slowed down so we headed to the main street to do some shopping. We headed to Duluth Trading Co. where we bought a few items. We headed to the Visitor's Center which is located in a cute stone building. Mike wanted some smoked fish so we headed to the fish market and we were able to find the smoked whitefish but no fresh fish. We found a convivence store where we bought some beverages. We headed back to the boat with our purchases. I called Reef Point Marina they were very accommodating so we are set to go to Racine on Sunday. The sun was starting to shine so we put together the buggy to go grocery shopping. We had been told that the walking trail would be quicker so we got on the Ozaukee Interurban Trail close to the marina. We saw deer and fawns on the trail if you walked by they would get off the trail going into the woods but wouldn't go far so picture taking was easy. There were also numerous butterflies. I have been trying to take a picture of a monarch butterfly since we left on the trip but they are always moving very quickly. Today the butterflies had all types of flowers so taking pictures was easy. We went to the True Value Hardware Store where we were able to but a few items that we needed. We than headed to the Piggly Wiggly where we filled a grocery cart with items for the rivers. Between two backpacks and cart we were able to get all of groceries in easily to walk back to the boat. We took the trail back to the boat again the deer and butterflies were posing for pictures. We headed back to the boat it was sunny, warm and humid. Between Mike and I we were able to get all of the groceries stowed away without difficulty. We had happy hour up on the flying bridge. We had cold sandwiches for dinner with corn on the cob from the farmer's market in Sheboygan. Back to the boat for blogging and reading.
"The Pebble House" The house was originally built in 1848. Is the visitor center for Port Washington.

Mike bought smoked whitefish. Mike eats smoked whitefish everyday for lunch.

Mike and I went shopping for a few items.

Mom walking right towards me while I snapped pictures of her.

Not only did the doe walk toward me her fawn did as well.

Fawn walking through the woods.

A bit bigger fawn but still has spots.

My first butterfly picture of the trip.

This Piggly Wiggly just opened about a week ago. Thank goodness as we would not have had
a grocery store close until Chicago.

Mike with our full cart and his backpack.

On our way back to the marina more deer.

Mike was pointing at another deer while I was talking this picture of this deer who has standing right behind Mike.

The deer stayed behind Mike so I took a picture of both of them.

One more picture as the deer didn't move so I kept taking pictures.

Butterfly day.

This is my favorite picture of the day!
