Ludington Municipal Marina in Ludington, MI to Manitowoc Marina in Manitowoc, WI
Day #36: Update from last evening Mike and I played two games of cribbage. We each won a game. Up at 5:00 A.M. the weather was clear and calm. We were underway at 5:50 A.M. At 6:10 A.M. we passed the "Badger" that was inbound to Ludington. We experienced winds from the northwest 5-10 miles per hour with 1-2 foot waves. Sunrise was at 6:42 A.M. At 8:30 A.M. we were 22 miles out from Ludington when we lost cell service. At 9:00 A.M. 26 miles out from Ludington we lost site of Michigan. At 9:30 A.M. we were 29.6 miles out with 29.6 miles to go so we were halfway across. At 10:34 A.M. towers in Wisconsin were sited. We were out of site of land for 1 hour and 34 minutes. At 12:20 P.M. the "Badger" passed us inbound to Manitowoc. At 1:20 P.M. (ET) we were secure at Manitowoc Marina in slip A-31. We traveled 60.7 miles today (464 miles total for the trip so far). We have been watching the weather and we are not sure if we will be staying in Manitowoc tomorrow or leaving for Sheboygan so we headed to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum. Mike toured the "USS Cobia". After we toured the rest of the museum together. Mike and I headed back to the boat for happy hour on the flying bridge. After happy hour Mike made steak and potatoes on the grill for dinner. We walked out to see the new lighthouse on the break wall. The lighthouse was just recently bought by a gentleman from Chicago who restored the lighthouse and it is beautiful. Mike and I headed back to the boat for blogging and trip planning just in case the weather lets us move to Sheboygan tomorrow.
