Manitowoc Marina in Manitowoc, WI to Harbor Centre Marina, Sheboygan, WI

Day #37: Rain overnight. We were up at 6:00 A.M. CT (we are now trying to get use to Central Time). We had breakfast of coffee, peach and banana bread while we evaluated the weather. It was warm, minimal winds and sunny. We decided to go ahead and head to Sheboygan. I got on-line booking our stay at Harbor Centre on Dockwa (Wisconsin does not have a DNR website like Michigan) so most of the marinas use Dockwa for booking. Since we didn't have confirmation yet from Habor Centre on Dockwa I called the marina at 8 A.M. to make sure that they could accommodate us. Harbor Centre told me that they could accommodate us to come that they would be waiting for us. We were underway at 8:10 A.M. At 10:00 A.M. we sighted  the "Acuity" flag over Sheboygan. At 11:30 A.M. we were secure in E-29 at Harbor Centre Marina. We traveled 30 miles today (490 miles total from the trip). Mike There was a couple in a boat that were at Manitowoc Marina yesterday, they had also gone to the museum and were just behind us when we left Manitowoc this morning. The couple walked by the boat as Mike and I were putting out our canvas.  They stopped to talk.   Bill and Barb are also Looping. They are a very nice couple they are also staying here in Sheboygan for about a week. Mike did some condo business while I finished the book that I have been reading. Mike and I then headed to the pool. At the pool we met a couple from Chicago who were very nice. After the pool Mike and I head back to our boat to have happy hour. We had seen two other boats with Loop flags deciding after dinner that we would head over to introduce ourselves. While Mike and I were enjoying happy hour Russ from "Long Story" and Tom from "Destination???" from the two Looper boats that we were going to meet after dinner stopped by to introduce themselves. The four of us talked for a bit then Russ's wife Kerry came over and we met her. Mike and I then headed for a walk along the waterfront. In all we walked 3 miles and it was a beautiful night. Time for blogging and guitar playing before bed.

This is the flag that we could see for miles as we approached Sheboygan. Acuity is an insurance company. The flagpole is located on the company's headquarters campus. The flagpole is nearly 100 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty. 70 by 140-foot flag is the world's largest free-flying American flag. Each stripe is over 5 feet high and each star nearly 3 feet across. 9,800-square foot flag weighs 340 pounds.
