Presque Isle State Harbor in Presque Isle, MI
Day #4:
From last evening Mike won 2 games of cribbage. Mike and I were up at 6:45 A.M. sunny, cool and no wind. We went for a walk to North Bay Beach House which is just down the road from the marina which has a beautiful view of the water. After we walked the break wall at the marina and around the Old Presque Isle Light we headed to the New Presque Isle Light. As we were headed to the lighthouse one of the locals let us know that at 10:30 A.M. at the New Presque Isle Light there would be the Independence Day parade. Mike and I walked around the grounds of the lighthouse and Mike did some shopping while we waited for the parade. The parade was very small but very delightful. After the parade Mike and I headed back to the boat. We walked a total of 5.12 miles. The one issue that we have encountered has been no ice available to purchase. Today Mike went to the Portage Restaurant that is located on the grounds of the marina they sold him 2 bags of ice for $4.00 (Whew! the beer will stay cold). After lunch Mike and I launched the dinghy heading to the beach. The winds picked up out of the east which lead to increase in the waves and cooler temperatures. At 3 P.M. we headed back to the boat. After returning to the boat Mike did some reading and I worked on my blog while sitting up on the flying bridge. Happy Hour! Mike and I planned on staying up and watch the Presque Isle fireworks that will be launched over the water. We played cribbage while listening to a Jimmy Buffett concert on "Radio Margaritaville" on XM radio.
