Day #13: From last evening Mike and I played two games of cribbage I won the first game (skunk) and Mike won the second game. Up at 7 A.M. this morning for coffee, grapefruit and banana bread. Working on getting dockage in Harbor Springs. Last evening sent an e-mail to Irish Boat Yard, awaiting a response. I called Irish Boat Shop and they had not received my e-mail. I spoke with Nikki and we are booked at this time Wednesday, July 18th until Monday, July 23rd. We will need to call as there is a regatta next week and if the boats start arriving early they will not have a slip for us, so we need to call on Wednesday morning. We are hoping that the weather is good on Wednesday and Monday so that we can move. Cloudy, warm and humid this morning. Mike and I toured the USCGC Mackinaw Museum ship. On May 8th (I had to wait until after my birthday one year from my expiration date on my Nexus card) I submitted for my renewal of my Nexus card as it is going to expire just about the time that we will be entering Canada. I had sent an e-mail a month before we left but was told that it would take 2-3 months before I would know if my application had been approved and then I would need to have an interview at the Border Patrol Office within 30 days of application being approved. I received an e-mail today that my Nexus application had been approved and that I do not need to interview with border patrol (WHOOO HOOO!). Mike and I preparing for a trip on Tuesday to see our daughter Amanda and son-in-law Tony in Sault Ste. Maria, Michigan. After boat jobs around 3 P.M. we launched the dinghy sunny, warm but a bit windy. Waves increasing out by the bridge so we stayed by the beach. As we were in by the beach there was a trawler that stopped to talk to us wondering about anchoring near the beach he asked if people normally anchor there we told him "no" but that it would be good for anchoring. The trawler was flying a AGLCA Looper flag. Mike and I were heading back to the boat for a stop but we returned with boat card in hand we stopped to talk to the gentleman. The man's name is Brad he is traveling by himself on a Albin 27 named Sea Urchin. We talked for a bit and exchanged boat cards. Mike and I stayed out in the dinghy until 6 P.M. before heading back in for the night. We are in for the evening planning on reading and cribbage.
