Kingston City Marina in Kingston, NY to Donovan's Shady Harbor Marina in New Baltimore, NY

Day #354: From last evening I beat Mike at cribbage. As of this morning the Erie Locks  E18 to  E20 were to re-open today but those are the only locks hence E8 to E18 locks are still closed.  Mike and I were up at 5:00 A.M. to prepare for departure, it was clear and 60 degrees. Engines were started at 5:40 A.M. with departure at 5:45 A.M. As "Parrot Bay" was coming up toward the lighthouse the tug/barge "Dean Reinaur" was headed north but going at 14 miles per hour (faster than our 9 mph). At 6:10 A.M. the tug/barge "CMT Otter" passed "Parrot Bay" heading south. "Parrot Bay" passed under the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge at 6:25 A.M. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of hills and greenery. At 7:10 A.M. "Parrot Bay" passed the Saugerties Lighthouse and at 8:35 A.M. passed under the Rip VanWinkle Bridge. At 8:55 A.M. "Parrot Bay" passed the tug "Ruby M" going south.  Mike and I had seen the "Ruby M" early in the week. At 9:00 A.M. the tug "Frances" was turning in the middle of the channel then headed south at the Hudson City Lighthouse. At 9:15 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was passed by the "BBC Africa" heading north. We could not remember a time when they had been passed by a freighter or tug/barge. At 9:35 A.M. "Albanyborg" passed the "Parrot Bay "heading south. "Parrot Bay" was at the fuel dock at 11:00 A.M. at Donovan's Shady Harbor taking on diesel (230.25 gallons), and had the blackwater tank pumped out. This should be the last fuel up that "Parrot Bay" will need until she gets home to Bay City. At 11:45 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was secure at her slip on the face wall after traveling 41.7 miles today (4,338 miles total for the trip). At 12:00 P.M. Mike and I went to check out the facilities at the marina.  We met Brian Donovan the owner of the marina who introduced himself.  We  headed to the Boathouse Grille the onsite restaurant. We had a great meal.  I had a fish sandwich and Mike had a crab cake sandwich. We then headed to the marina store where Mike reserved the courtesy car for Sunday for grocery shopping. We then headed back to the boat for a few boat jobs before heading to the marina pool for the afternoon where we enjoyed pool time and reading. At 3:45 P.M. the two of us headed back to the boat for happy hour on the flying bridge.  The wind had picked up which was very comfortable. After happy hour it was time for blogging and navigation planning. This afternoon the Erie Canal is re-opened to Brewerton but it remains closed from Brewerton west, along with the Owego Canal.
