Aquamarina Palm Harbour Marina in Cape Haze, Florida
Day #242: From last evening I beat Mike at cribbage. At 2:49 A.M. the two of us were up to view a Space X rocket carrying a capsule known as "Crew Dragon" which lifted off from Kennedy Space Center. The capsule is designed for astronauts, but on this mission it's carrying only a so-called "smart dummy" named Riley, designed to gather data about how the flight might affect human occupants. The "Crew Dragon" now in orbit will attempt to dock with the International Space Station. The two of us were able to see the rocket very clearly from 153 miles away. We were up at 6:30 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit, mini blueberry muffins and cookies. After breakfast we launched the dinghy heading to Don Pedro Island State Park where we had a great morning of beachcombing. For the first time this year we saw a mother dolphin and calf in the Gulf of Mexico just off the beach at Don Pedro. Mike and I ran into David and Jan at Don Pedro Island State Park as they were out beachcombing as well. After lunch Mike and I headed to the pool at the marina. David and Jan joined us at the pool for a great afternoon. After dinner clean up it was time for reading and blogging.
