Illinois Valley Yacht Club in Peoria Heights, IL

Day #71: Up at 6:30 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit and gingersnaps. Three loads of laundry started. $1.50 for a load for the washer and dryer. Mike asked Bev and Bruce if they would be interested in having lunch with us at the IVY restaurant, they accepted. At 10:00 A.M. Bev and Bruce invited us to walk with them to a marine supply store. The four of us talked about travel for the next week.  Bruce had looked at a plan he suggested it to Mike. When we got back to the boat Mike reviewed Bruce's plan which Mike agreed he liked better.  I finished laundry before lunch. Bruce, Bev, Mike and I had a great lunch in the IVY restaurant. We talked about leaving tomorrow versus Friday. We were able to alter our reservation here at IVY and I called Bob at Tall Timbers changing the reservations for both "Baytripper" and "Parrot Bay". We will be leaving tomorrow morning.  We will have one lock and travel approximately 48 miles. Bev and Bruce are going to come over for docktails at 5:30 P.M. so that we can firm up our travel plans. At 5:30 P.M. we were joined by "Felix" Tom and Dorothy are also leaving in the morning they are meeting up with "Crossroads" enroute to the lock. Bev made peach cobbler for docktails it was delicious. Tom and Dorothy headed to dinner. Mike and I stayed talking with Bruce and Bev. Time to get ready for tomorrows travel.
Bev shared this picture with us-it is the Joliet wall. "Baytripper", "Change of Pace", "Recess", TxAu" and "Parrot Bay"

"Parrot Bay" in her slip at Illinois Valley Yacht Club.  The mast is still down due to the low bridges on the Illinois river.

Bev, Bruce and I in the front of IVY Club.

Mike and I in front of the IVY Club.

Bruce wanted to walk down the railroad tracks to the marine store. The rest of us wanted to cross the street to walk on the sidewalk.

Very nice marina store 1/2 mile from IVY.
