Presque Isle State Harbor in Presque Isle, MI to Rogers City Marina in Rogers City, MI

Day #7: Update from last evening I beat Mike at 2 games of cribbage (I skunked Mike both games). We were up at 7 A.M.  Mike and I reviewed the weather reports deciding that we would leave Presque Isle at 9 A.M. At 9 A.M. "Parrot Bay" was underway heading for Rogers City. The forecast was for waves to be 2 feet or less we decided that there were more 2 foot waves than less. Mike and I were both glad that the boat ride was only 2 1/2 hours. When we got to Calcite the Tug "Olive L. Moore" barge "Menominee" was filling up with lime stone. "Parrot Bay" was secure at the dock in Rogers City at 11:45 A.M. "Parrot Bay" traveled 20.6 miles today (153 miles total for the trip).  I got on the Michigan DNR website booking a slip in Mackinaw City starting on Wednesday for a week. Mike and I headed into the town of Rogers City. Last year we wanted to see the Great Lakes Lore Maritime Museum but it was closed. Today it was open so we were able to tour the museum. Mike did some shopping at Richard's Clothing Store. We walked up to the ACE Hardware at the corner of US23. We stopped at Family Fare Grocery Store for a few items. On our way back we stopped at Port of Call Party Store to buy beer. After returning to the boat we headed up to the flying bridge for beverages and snacks. Mike and I received a phone call from our son Mark and daughter in law Leah who just signed paperwork on their new home today. While Mike and I were on the flying bridge they were able to see numerous freighters out on the water. We walked up to the post office followed by a walk on the break wall at the marina for a total of 4.45 miles today.  Planning on traveling to Mackinaw City in the morning.
