Straits State Harbor in Mackinaw City, MI
Day #10: Rain and thunderstorms early morning. Up at 7 A.M. for coffee and grapefruit. Mike and I walked to Country Market & Bakery. Mike had a maple donut and I had a cherry turnover both were delicious. We headed to Mackinaw Family Market and Mickey's Mini Mart for a few items. Mike then walked to get some smoked whitefish dip from Minogin Market. Our good friends Ken and Monica arrived in Mackinaw City for an overnight visit. Mike's brother Jim stopped in as well on his way to St. Ignace. We all enjoyed the smoked whitefish dip with crackers while hanging out on the flying bridge of the Parrot Bay. After Jim left, Ken, Monica, Mike and I went for a walk to Michilimackinac State Park. We looked up and could see the bridge traffic was at a standstill. We walked the main street browsing in the stores. We stopped for drinks at the Keyhole Bar & Grill. After the bar we browsed more stores. We then headed to the Dixie Saloon Food & Spirits for dinner. Monica, Ken, Mike and I attended a free concert at Conkling Heritage Park with Matthew Ball is a boogie woogie, ragtime and jazz pianist. Mackinaw City every Friday night has a firework display at Mackinaw Bay Beach what a great display. After the fireworks,
Mike and I walked down to the park at the base of the Mackinaw Bridge so that I could get a picture of the bridge at night.
