Suntex Marina in Vero Beach, FL
THE TREASURE COAST
Day #281: From last evening Mike beat me at cribbage. We were up at 6:30 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit, cookies and mini lemon poppy seed muffins. At 7:40 A.M. we helped Mike from "Dash Away" cast off as he was heading to Cocoa Village. As "Dash Away" headed out Mike reminded me that this is how it is, you travel with boats enjoying their company then they leave hoping that you will meet up with them again in the future. The two of us did some boat jobs, bed sheet change and Mike looked at the light in the v-berth as it has been working intermittently. After we worked on navigation and trip planning getting ready for the next few planned stops. Mike and I have found it very helpful to have "Island Girl's" and "Optimystique's " information on where they stayed as they were traveling on their loops so the two of us have been working on our spreadsheet to share with other loopers. Mike sounded the fuel tanks in preparation for leaving Thursday for Cocoa Village. After lunch the we headed to the pool for one last day as we are unsure of the next time that we will be at a marina with a pool. The two of us are hoping to see a the launch of the SpaceX Falcon Heavy Arabsat which as been bumped from last evening to 6:30 P.M. today than bumped to 8:00 P.M. today. The 8:00 P.M. launch would be great as it will be dusk but the skies are partly to mostly cloudy so not sure if Mike and I will get to see the launch but we are going to try. I made spaghetti tonight for dinner. Preparations have been made for us to leave in the morning for Cocoa Village. The SpaceX launch was cancelled for this evening due to high winds in the upper atmosphere. The next launch attempt will be Thursday April 11th. With the cancellation it is allowing Mike and I will be closer to Kennedy Space Center to see the launch.
