St. Augustine Municipal Marina in St. Augustine, FL
Day #292: HAPPY EASTER TO ALL! Up at 6:45 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit, mini blueberry muffins and cookies. "Chrysalis" was to leave this morning but they had some issues with a leaking exhaust hose so they are staying in St. Augustine. Mike worked on navigation while I worked on three loads of laundry in preparation for leaving on Monday morning. Mike working on trip planning getting "Parrot Bay" to Charleston, South Carolina. At 11:00 A.M. Mike completed his navigation/trip planning and I completed the laundry. I called Amelia Island to confirm our reservation for Monday. The two of us had lunch onboard the boat before heading out to explore the St. Augustine Lighthouse. We walked over the Bridge of Lions for a total of 1.8 miles to the lighthouse. As we were getting close to the lighthouse the two of us saw multiple wood storks at a sign for the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park. We climbed the 219 stairs to the top of the lighthouse where we were able to see the Atlantic Ocean, St. Augustine and Anastasia Island. After leaving the lighthouse park I suggested heading to the
St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park. The park had alligators, crocodiles, birds, snakes, etc. Mike and I had a great time. The two walked backed the 1.8 miles over the Bridge of Lions to get back to the marina. The two of us headed up to the flying bridge for happy hour. Sue from "Fratt House" came over. Her and Joe will be traveling with us to Amelia Island leaving at 6:30 A.M. Mike and I joined Alex, Deb, Gil and Samantha for ice cream and a walk in St. Augustine. The group said their goodbyes again.

Maritime Hammock as the coast line receded, creating stabilized beach dunes that allow for larger growth trees. Through maritime hammocks extend the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, the specific mix of live oak, red bay, and cabbage palm found in this maritime hammock extends from southern Georgia to Cape Canaveral.
