Day #230: From last night Mike beat me at cribbage (yup it was a skunk). Mike and I set the alarm for 6:00 A.M. to get laundry started as Patty was putting laundry into the washing machines Larry from "Camelot" showed up with Sheryl and his laundry-WHEW. Mike and I waited for a mechanic to show up to complete a few jobs on the "Parrot Bay". By 8:00 A.M. two loads of laundry washed and dried. Mike worked on boat projects finished adding distilled water to the batteries and cycled the rudders. After the boat jobs Mike and I headed to the pool while waiting for the mechanic. At 11:15 A.M. the mechanic arrived to work on the gear shifts and alternator. At the same time Ed and Kyle arrived with Eric a gentleman who is in the process of buying a boat in Muskegon, MI. Ed, Kyle, Eric and I talked about boats and the Loop and Mike joined the group after helping the mechanic. The group concluded the visit with a tour of the "Parrot Bay". The good news was that the gear shifts looked good. Mike and I had lunch onboard the boat when the mechanic left for lunch. The mechanic arrived back at the boat in the afternoon to work on the alternator. Scott joined Mike and I at the pool just about the time the health department showed up to test the pool. Scott and Mike were asked to leave the pool as the health department shut the pool just about the time that Kyle, Ed, Jan and David showed up at the pool. It only took the Aquamarina staff about 30 minutes to rectify the pool situation and the pool was re-opened. At about that time Mike headed to the boat to talk to the mechanic where the decision was made to replace the alternator. After dinner Mike talked to Mom and Dad Boynton. It was time for blogging and reading for Mike and I.

Not what we wanted to see on a sunny and 82 degree Florida afternoon. Only took the staff 30 minutes to rectify the situation..... |
Everyone was much happier when the pool re-opened. Kyle, David, Jan, Patty and Ed. |
"Parrot Bay" needs a new alternator. A signal wire was held in place with tape and a popsicle stick. |
