Day #224: From last night Mike won at cribbage with a skunk. The two of us were up at 6:30 A.M. for coffee, grapefruit, cookies and lemon poppy seed muffins. After breakfast we took the cart to Publix for provisions. After returning to the boat we went to the pool as it was sunny, 72 degrees and humid. After lunch it was time for the two of us to head back to the pool for reading and frolicking in the water. Mike and I were joined by Ed, Kyle, David, Jan and Larry. At 3:45 P.M. Ed, Kyle, Mike and I headed to Port Charlotte to Kallis German Butcher Shop were we fresh purchased fresh meats. The four of us headed to Beef County Butcher Shop were Ed and Kyle bought a bit more meat. After shopping the four of us headed to Nan's Thai Noodle Restaurant. Kyle and Ed did a tutorial for Mike and I on Thai Food. David and Jan joined us for dinner. The six of us started with Tom Ka a sweet and sour, coconut-based soup with chicken. All six of us had fresh spring rolls. After appetizers Mike had Masaman Curry which is coconut milk, masaman curry paste, potatoes, carrots, onions and peanuts, beef and jasmine rice. Patty had crispy duck which was fried boneless duck over mixed vegetables with homemade sauce and jasmine rice. A great time was had by all. Mike and I returned to the boat at 7:45 P.M. just in time to listen to a Great Lakes Cruising Club online class on Cruising Northern Georgian Bay. Mike and I have been members of the Great Lakes Cruising Club for numerous years we enjoy the information that we receive from the organization including the online classes.
