Bashi Creek Anchorage, Putnam, Alabama to Bobby's Fish Camp in Silas, Alabama
Day #127: Up at 6:00 A.M. as we did not set an alarm as all of the boats in the anchorage decided to wait as we only had a short day on the water to Bobby's Fish Camp. At 8:10 A.M. Mike called the boats in the anchorage on VHF-68 and it was decided that all boats would start getting ready to depart. Engines on at 8:15 A.M. We were clear of Bashi Creek at 8:30 A.M. and the destination is Bobby's Fish Camp with "Bay Tripper", "Sea Trolley", "Optimystique" and "Lark". I called Bobby's Fish Camp to see if they would be willing to open the restaurant as we had 5 boats with 10 people that would be willing eat dinner if they opened. Lots of debris in the water we hit two logs once at a reduce speed and once in neutral. We were off of Bobby's Fish Camp at 11:30 A.M. and there was a 50 foot boat on the small dock. "Optimystique" at the dock first with "Lark" in front of them tied to the dock. "Sea Trolley" rafted to "Lark" and "Parrot Bay" rafted to "Optimystique" all in front of the 50 foot boat. "Bay Tripper" rafted to "Parrot Bay". We were informed that the restaurant would open to feed us dinner this evening. We traveled 26.1 miles today (1804 miles for the trip). Rain with some thunder all afternoon. Lunch aboard "Bay Tripper" Bev made beef fajitas, they were delicious. As we were finishing up dinner "Twin" and "Muse 10/Tomboy" came to Bobby's "Twin" rafted to "Sea Trolley" and "Muse 10/Tomboy" rafted to "Twin". "Island Girl" was texting as they left Demopolis they were heading to Bobby's Fish Camp (Karen didn't have to have surgery on her foot buy they were joined by a friend helping Karen and Ken with the boat so that they could continue the Loop). Bruce and Mike reviewed anchorages that we might be able to stay at on Thursday if we get through the lock. "Island Girl" arrive at 3:20 P.M. Plan is for dinner at 6:00 P.M. along with a captain's meeting to discuss travel plans for tomorrow. We were so happy that Bobby's Fish Camp opened up the restaurant and for the most part everyone had their famous catfish which was excellent. There were 8 Looper boats represented at dinner and 2 others passing through for a total of 10. Planning on leaving in the morning as we have our last lock tomorrow for this year and one more anchorage before we make the trip to Mobile, AL.

Well there would have been enough room for other boats to pass but this log was in the way. |

All tied up at Bobby's Fishcamp but just in time for the rain and thunder. |

Bobby's Fish Camp was developed in 1956. Lora Jane, Bobby's daughter now runs the marina and restaurant as Bobby passed in 2010.
