Clearwater, Florida

Day #139: Patty was up at 6:00 A.M. after a very restful evening. I finished the book that I have been reading. Mike up at 6:20 A.M. we are both feeling soreness from our Gulf crossing. We had coffee, grapefruit and cookies while watching the local news. Mike and I got ready for a walk. Heading out for our walk we said "goodbye" to "Island Girl" especially Wayne as he will be home before we hook back up with Ken and Karen on Thanksgiving Day. His help after Karen broke her foot allowed them to finish their big trip and make it home safely.  Wayne was a real friend and a hero!  Mike and I walked 2.48 miles on the beach walk and pier here in Clearwater. We stopped at the marina office picking up our mail that we had sent from St. Brendan's Isle. We talked to Bruce and Bev planning on dinner out at one of the beachside restaurants followed by sunset out on the pier. The dockmaster told Mike that the pier at sunset here in Clearwater is very similar to Mallory Square in Key West, FL. Time for some boat jobs and paperwork. Mike and I went for a walk to do some fun shopping in some of the little stores here in Clearwater. When we returned we worked on a few more boat jobs. We had a short happy hour with Bruce and Bev on the dock here at the marina. At 3:45 P.M. Bruce, Bev, Mike and I walked to Frenchy's Rockaway Grill for dinner. After dinner we walked to see the sunset at Pier 60 where there were crafters and entertainment. We headed back to the boat for the night. Time for blogging and reading.
Yeah! We made it to Clearwater.

This was at the marina offices.

All over the town are decorated dolphins.

These cute turtles are at the beach on the foot showers.

Our morning walk on the boardwalk.

Beautiful white sand here at Clearwater beach.

These were out on the fishing pier.

Brown pelicans.

This was a very cool store that was a combination of 10 stores under one roof.

Where we will spend our evening watching the sunset and live entertainment.

So excited for Karen and Ken as they crossed their wake today in Sarasota.  Now they are "GOLD" loopers!

Bev enjoying her toes in the sand on Clearwater beach.

Bruce, Bev, Mike and Patty had a great meal on the beach.
