Day #74: We had a great night in the Upper Buckhorn anchorage. It was very peaceful. We set the alarm for 2:00 A.M. to get up and check to make sure that we had not drifted (I also have an app that is an anchor alarm that if our anchor starts to drag an alarm goes off on my phone). Mike was awake ahead of the alarm no issues. We had a few tows go by us but we were very protected. The alarm went off at 6:00 A.M. we made coffee. At 6:45 A.M. the engines were started. We were underway with "Baytripper" at 7:00 A.M. We had a beautiful boat ride to Grafton, IL. It was a sunny and very warm day. We continued to dodge debris in the river. Grafton is at mile marker .7. There are two branches of the Mississippi River that come into the Illinois River as we got closer to Grafton. The debris and current definitely increased as we maneuvered to Grafton Harbor Marina. We arrived at the marina at 12:00 P.M. where we pulled up to the fuel dock for diesel and pump out. We were secured at the end of C row at t-dock. We are at the end of a dock that has covered slips. Today we traveled 50 miles (total 958 miles for the trip). At 1:30 P.M. we headed up to the Oyster Bar Restaurant here at the marina for lunch with "Baytripper". Today at the restaurant it is shrimp and crab festival. Mike had Louisiana shrimp plate (he loved it). After lunch we headed back to the boat working on boat jobs. While we were working we listened to Michigan versus SMU on satellite radio. Michigan won 45-20. At 5:30 P.M. we had happy hour with "Baytripper". We had a great time with Bev and Bruce. Mike and I headed back to our boat. Watching football while blogging and relaxing. We are planning on staying here in Grafton for about one week.
